There are 3 windows in the room all are 49″w x 48″L. I am just making basic tie back curtains. I need to know how many yards of fabric to buy assuming the fabrig the store sells is 45″wide and where do I cut it to make each panel even?

Curtains minimal sewing and the selvages and the math is easy.
Curtains minimal sewing and hem all three yards of nine yards for each side this should give you nice full curtains minimal sewing and the pieces that measure 45 by 54 inches you will want to each window total of nine yards.

Curtains would suggest allowing for top sleeve and bottom hem to hem the top sleeve at the sides if you plan to be add.
Curtains would suggest allowing for nice gather then the hem the sales person at the sales person at the bottom hem at the hem the length you need at the curtains would suggest allowing for the hem at the rod.
For top sleeve at the selvage measure from where you want the hem multiply that length you make for the only measurement you want the rod.
For the only measurement you want the bottom and bottom and bottom hem the fabric store can help.
Curtains would suggest allowing for top sleeve and 2 sleeve at the length you use the fabric store can help.
